MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Kevin Leahy, Sisters of St. Francis Health Services, Inc. (SSFHS) President and CEO, announced Wednesday that the SSFHS Board of Trustees has approved the promotion of three executives within the Northern Indiana Region and the hiring of an executive for a Northern Indiana Region hospital. These executive appointments are effective Feb. 8, 2004.

Gene Diamond, President and CEO of Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers and Regional COO of the Northern Indiana Region of SSFHS, has been promoted to the position of CEO for the Northern Indiana Region. In his new role, Diamond will have responsibility and authority for the overall leadership of the four hospitals within the Northern Indiana Region: St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers, Michigan City; St. Anthony Medical Center, Crown Point; and Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers’ North Campus in Hammond and South Campus in Dyer. The presidents of these Northern Indiana Region hospitals will have a direct reporting relationship to Diamond.

Thomas Gryzbek, Executive Vice President and COO of Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers has been promoted to the position of President of Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers in Hammond and Dyer.

Barbara Greene, the Chief Financial Officer of St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, Ill., has accepted the position of Executive Vice President and COO for Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers.

Seth Warren, Executive Vice President and COO of St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers in Michigan City has been promoted to the position of President of St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point.
